Eligibility Criteria For IEC Streams

You must submit a completed 'Come to Canada' questionnaire and obtain a unique reference code. The next step is to sign up for the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) account. Provide your given reference code to begin the application process.

Profile And Application Submission

You must select one of the three IEC streams to share your profile. Upon receiving the invitation to apply through your account, you'll have a maximum of 10 days to begin your application. You will have 20 days to submit the completed application and pay the required fees.

For those candidates applying for a work visa in the Co-op and Young Professional categories, during that 20-day timeframe, their Canadian employers must pay the employer compliance fee of CAD$230 through the Employer Portal.

 

The employers should send the offer of employment number to applicants. This number is essential for work permit applications. You must submit all the required paperwork online, including medical examination and police certificates.

After submitting your application, you'll receive an email with biometric instructions via your account if needed. You must submit your biometrics to a Visa Application Center within 30 days after receiving the letter. You must wait for a maximum of 56 days for the assessment of your application.

You must receive a Port of Entry Letter to your account upon the approval of your application. Keep the letter with you to avoid losing it when you go to Canada.
